Merit Scholarships
Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarships
Gallaudet University awards merit-based scholarships to deaf and hard of hearing undergraduate students who demonstrate strong academic performance and personal achievement. Eligibility is determined by criteria such as GPA, standardized test scores, and other academic indicators.
All newly admitted first-time freshmen and transfer applicants are automatically considered; no separate scholarship application is required. Recipients are notified by the Admissions Office. Timely acceptance of both admission and the scholarship offer is required.
Merit scholarships are renewable for students who continue to meet the established eligibility criteria. First-time freshmen may receive merit scholarships for up to eight consecutive semesters, and transfer students may receive them for up to six consecutive semesters, provided they maintain required academic standing and full-time enrollment.
