TRS 255 Pragmatics for ASL–English Translators
This course focuses on the pragmatic dimensions of translation, exploring meaning beyond the sentence level. Students examine presupposition, implicature, metaphor, gendered language, and cultural influences on meaning in ASL and English. Through comparative analysis, students refine their ability to convey nuance and implied meaning in translations.
