DST 205 Critical Theories in Deaf Studies
This course examines the foundational and emerging theoretical frameworks that shape the field of Deaf Studies. Students will engage with critical theories and cultural practices that inform understanding of how the wide variety of Deaf lived experiences challenge dominant paradigms of hearing normativity. By the end of the course, students will be able to articulate key theoretical approaches in Deaf Studies, analyze their intersections with broader critical traditions, and apply these frameworks to contemporary issues affecting Deaf communities globally.
